Student Catalog

The GA Beauty School Student Catalog serves as the official publication of G.A. Beauty & Barber School, superseding all previously released versions. While this catalog provides essential information, it does not encompass all policies applicable to students. Each student is individually responsible for understanding and adhering to the rules and regulations of G.A. Beauty & Barber School. Lack of awareness or failure to review policies, procedures, and regulations does not exempt students from compliance or accountability.

National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) for Students

The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is the U.S. Department of Education's (ED) central database for student financial aid. It gathers data from schools, guaranty agencies, the Direct Loan program, and other Department of Education programs. NSLDS Student Access provides a comprehensive, centralized view of Title IV loans and grants, allowing recipients to track their financial aid history and details.

Financial Aid Options for Eligible Students

Federal Grants

Federal grants are funds awarded based on financial need to assist with educational expenses. These funds do not require repayment.

Federal Direct Loans

Direct Loans are borrowed funds provided through the U.S. Department of Education and must be repaid with interest.

  • Direct Subsidized Loans – Available to students who demonstrate financial need. Interest does not accrue while the student is in school. Repayment begins six months after leaving school.

  • Direct Unsubsidized Loans – Available to all students, regardless of financial need. Interest accrues while the student is in school.

  • Direct PLUS Loans – Available to parents of dependent students. Financial need is not a requirement. If approved, the loan amount is applied directly to the student's account. If denied, the student may apply for the maximum amount available in a Direct Unsubsidized Loan.

Loan Counseling Requirements

  • Entrance Counseling – Students who have not previously received a Direct Subsidized, Unsubsidized, or PLUS Loan under the Direct Loan or Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program must complete entrance counseling before borrowing.

  • Exit Counseling – Students who have received a Direct Subsidized, Unsubsidized, or PLUS Loan under the Direct Loan or FFEL Program must complete exit counseling if they:

    • Drop below half-time enrollment

    • Graduate

    • Withdraw from school

Additional Financial Aid Resources

  • Alternative Loans – Provided by banks and credit unions, these loans offer additional funding options. Information on alternative loan options is available upon request.

  • Scholarships – Many companies, professional associations, and religious organizations offer scholarships to individuals or their family members. Conducting an online search or visiting a local library with free internet access can help identify available opportunities.
